Otic

OticArmor is a one-step application that helps and aids in decreasing pruritus, erythema and exudate caused by Otitis Externa. Apply OticArmor to help protect the epidermis which is compromised and sensitive to inflammation due to weakening of the ear canal lining. First, treat the Otitis Externa with your preferred medication. After completion of treatment and confirmation of normal flora by cytology, then apply OticArmor to help patient comfort, shield the epidermis and aid in lengthening the time between reoccurrence. One easy professional application every three months frees your clients from the burden of daily ear cleaning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is SANOS?

SANOS Veterinary Dental Sealant is a one-step application by the professional that helps keep the subgingival gumline (under the gums, not the cosmetic visible crown) of dogs and cats clean. SANOS is applied after every professional dental cleaning to protect under the gumline and the ‘difficult to reach’ areas under the gums of the back (caudal) teeth. SANOS seals the subgingival gumline (gingival sulcus) against the formation of plaque. One application lasts up to 6 months. SANOS helps keep the ‘difficult to reach’ areas clean, including critical areas such as the gingival sulcus.

What are the advantages of SANOS?

SANOS advantages are: 1. Helps protect the ‘difficult to reach’ areas and the subgingival gumline, the most important area for dental wellness 2. No take-home reapplication kit required 3. Non-waxy, easy-to-apply and requires no expensive applicator 4. Single application last up to 6 months 5. Can be used on any oral surface (subgingival gum line or soft tissue) 6. Has been clinically proven to be effective on cats as well as dogs for up to 6 months.

How is SANOS applied?

SANOS is professionally applied by a professional after a dental cleaning to the subgingival line. It is ‘painted’ under the gum line (in the gingival sulcus) with special dental brushes included in the kit. Apply the entire vial of SANOS subgingivally (not on the crown) to vestibular sulcus (buccal, outer) of all teeth; palatal and lingual (inner) surface for trouble spots.

Can I use fluoride, Doxirobe or coatings/gels with SANOS?

Combining SANOS with other products (i.e. layering fluoride, Doxirobe® or other coatings/gels) can adversely affect the curing, adhesion and performance of SANOS. For optimal results, make sure the surface is as clean as possible so it does not interfere with the SANOS coating. Fluoride may block the pores and affect the water/oxygen transport mechanism of SANOS. Use a non-fluoride prophy paste or pumice flour for polishing. SANOS should be the last thing applied without anything under or over it.

Do I need to do anything after the application when the pet goes home?

No, SANOS is designed to be worry free to the pet owner (i.e. no take-home reapplication kit required). Please consult your provider for recommendations as to when your pet should return for a checkup.

How long will SANOS last?

Clinical Results have shown a single SANOS application typically lasts up to 6 months. SANOS is designed to last between dental visits. However, please consult your provider since a pet’s age, current condition and care unrelated to dentistry may require more frequent visits.

Can I use SANOS on young pets?

Yes, SANOS is designed for all ages of dogs and cats after they have their permanent teeth. Apply at spay or neuter to help the client get started on the path to wellness early. Several published studies have shown that by the age of 3 years dental problems are observed in ~ 80% of dogs.

Is SANOS safe for dogs and cats?

Yes, all components of SANOS are non-toxic. SANOS is designed with safety and efficacy as the top priorities. SANOS has been tested and has NOT shown any adverse effects to dogs and cats in Clinical Safety and Efficacy Studies.

How long does it take for SANOS to dry?

SANOS dries in about 10 seconds.

Should I apply SANOS to the entire tooth?

No, apply SANOS under the gums by dipping the supplied brush in the vial and painting the product with the supplied brush under the gum line. SANOS is not for stopping plaque on the crown of the tooth. SANOS is for protecting the gingiva and gingival sulcus, the most important area to aid in the prevention of periodontal disease. SANOS is for ‘difficult to reach’ areas and under the gumline (in the gingival sulcus).

Can I brush my pet's teeth after SANOS application?

SANOS is designed for use after every professional dental cleaning. SANOS is for use after every dental to help protect the ‘difficult to reach’ areas such as the caudal teeth for pet owners who do brush. It is recommended to wait 7 days before resuming brushing.

Can my pet have dental chew toys after SANOS application?

Yes, however, it is recommended waiting 7 days after a dental procedure or SANOS application before giving the pet dental chew toys.

Can my pet have dental chew products after application?

Pet dental chews designed for the crown of the tooth are OK to use with SANOS. It is recommended to wait 7 days before giving the pet dental chews or dental treats.

Can I use the same vial if some is left from the initial application?

If you have a lot left over, you did not use enough for SANOS to be effective. For best results, make sure you use copious amounts in each application as directed by Dr. Peter Emily (the requirement of re-dipping the brush after every one to two teeth is not seen in the demonstration video due to editing). Apply the entire vial of SANOS subgingivally (not on the crown) to vestibular sulcus (buccal, outer) of all teeth; palatal and lingual (inner) surface for trouble spots. Often smaller pets with crowded teeth have extensive dental problems. SANOS can also be applied to the palatal and lingual surfaces of small breed dogs. Sharing a vial of SANOS between different pets is not recommended to avoid cross-contamination.
